About the Role

Fiberline Technician Interacts with team members to insure that the process is operating properly. Has good understanding of the total Fiberline process flow & equipment operation. Generates & forwards electronic work orders to the maintenance department. Performs basic maintenance & troubleshooting tasks as required throughout the white area. Inspects finished product bales while in the bale press to detect quality issues & records & findings on the production logsheet. Communicates serious and/or ongoing quality issues to the FTIII for follow up & resolution. Review finished product specification book & reviews specifications, EO’s etc. to determine the proper operating conditions. Monitors & controls bale moisture & weight & takes corrective actions based on process data. Complete daily production logsheet & enters production into SAP system. Makes sure that finished product bales are packaged, labeled & stored according to quality standards & all finished product information in the system is correct & available in a timely manner. Responsibilities: Monitors fiber flow in white area & controls dryer operation through the HMI – siemens control system to ensure that finished product moisture is within specification. Maintains adequate fiber levels in the dryer laydown reserve & the white bin to insure optimum fiber mixing. Wraps finished product bales at the bale press with polypropylene bags & galvanized wire bands. Weighs finished product bale & prepares a label using the bale label printer program & places the label on the bale. Obtains a moisture value for each bale of product using the Streat moisture meter or a Mettler moisture balance. Enters production into the SAP system using material ID, bale number, weight & moisture & maintains the manual production log sheet. Operates a clamp truck to store the finished product bale in the warehouse in the appropriate “hold” location. Obtains fiber samples from the white blending bin for each bale, places them in a ziploc bag & prepares a bag label with sample time, grade & bale number. Obtains fiber samples for microbial testing as required. Inspects bales in the bale press prior to wrapping to identify any contamination or foreign materials in the fiber & document any unusual observations on the production log sheet. Collects & forwards contaminants to the Fiberline lab with corresponding bale number information. Performs clean up of the process as required (dryers, dust system, sweeping, general housekeeping, etc.). Re-works offgrade bales of fiber through the system as required. Has the authority to shut down the process whenever safety or quality issues deem it necessary. Performs testing on the gas dryers through the Human Machine Interface to comply with the Combustion Safety Program. Uses email to communicate with the organization. Enters work request into the MP2 system as required. Maintains a specification book to insure that the finished product in processed & packaged in conformance with the appropriate specification. Adheres to Lumberton Cellulose safety policies & assists co-workers as required to ensure safe operations & maintenance of the process.
