Assistant Accountant (12 month FTC)

Citadel Source is partnering with a growing organisation in the East Bristol area to recruit an Assistant Accountant on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a strong opportunity for a recent graduate who has completed a placement year, or for an AAT student, who is keen to develop a career in finance within a supportive and collaborative environment.

We are looking for a proactive, reliable individual with a strong sense of responsibility and a solid work ethic. You should be someone who enjoys working towards both personal and shared team objectives. Strong communication skills are essential, along with a positive attitude and the ability to work effectively with others.

The role

In the role of Assistant Accountant, you will work closely with the Management Accountant and provide support with the month-end close process. You will be involved in a variety of accounting and finance tasks, gaining valuable, practical experience across different areas of finance. This position is ideal for someone looking to build confidence and capability in month-end reporting, particularly a recent graduate with placement experience or an AAT studier seeking their next step.

As an Assistant Accountant your role will include, but not be limited to:

• Support the production of management accounts
• Monthly balance sheet reconciliations
• Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations for each period
• Support the analysis of the management accounts
• Preparation of accruals and prepayments
• Posting journals

What the client has to offer

• A salary level of £26,000 to £28,000
• Hybrid working policy (2 days per week for the right candidate)
