Computing Teacher - Coventry

About the role:

Justteachers is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Computing Teacher to join a welcoming secondary school in Coventry for a full time long term position in September. This is an exciting opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about digital learning, programming, problem-solving, and helping pupils develop the skills they need to succeed in an increasingly technology-driven world.

You’ll be joining a supportive staff team in a school that values high-quality teaching, strong behaviour routines, and a broad, engaging curriculum. The role involves teaching Computing, supporting pupils as they build confidence with digital tools, develop computational thinking, and apply key concepts across programming, online safety, and information technology.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging Computing lessons in line with curriculum expectations and pupil needs.
• Create a positive, inclusive, and purposeful learning environment that supports confidence, curiosity, and digital skills development.
• Use practical activities, demonstrations, and problem-solving tasks to make computing concepts accessible and enjoyable.
• Assess, monitor, and report on pupil progress, adapting teaching to meet a range of abilities and prior experience.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to support curriculum planning, student progress, online safety, and wider school life.

Pre-requisites:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching Computing, Computer Science, or ICT in a UK secondary school setting.
• Strong subject knowledge across computing concepts, digital literacy, programming, and online safety.
• Excellent classroom management skills and a commitment to high standards of teaching and learning.
• Two relevant references, ideally from an educational setting.
