<p>An exciting career opportunity has arisen for a Geotechnical Design Engineer to join a fast-growing engineering consultancy based in York. <p>The successful Geotechnical Design Engineer will play a key role in team management, project delivery, and technical excellence. <p>As Geotechnical Design Engineer, your responsibilities will include:</p>
<ul>
<li>Working on the geotechnical team and managing project workloads</li>
<li>Identifying geotechnical risks and proposing effective mitigation strategies</li>
<li>Delivering concept and detailed design work including foundation design, slope stability and retaining walls.</li>
<li>Producing high-quality technical reports including Ground Investigation and Geotechnical Design Reports</li>
<li>Mentoring junior staff</li>
<li>Supporting colleagues across other offices as part of a wider geotechnical team</li>
</ul>

<p>To succeed in this Geotechnical Design Engineer role, you should have:</p>
<ul>
<li>Design experience within civil or geotechnical engineering consultancy</li>
<li>Have or be working towards chartered status with the Institution of Civil Engineers (or equivalent)</li>
<li>Familiarity with geotechnical design software, AutoCAD, and MS Office</li>
<li>Experience in rail projects (preferred but not essential)</li>
<li>Relevant experience in areas such as slope stability, foundation design, earthworks, soil nails, retaining structures, and pile design</li>
<li>Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering</li>
<li>Clean UK driving licence</li>
<li>Live in or near to York</li>
</ul>
