** Johnson Service Group (JSG) is a nationally recognized professional staffing and recruiting firm that is looking for an experienced P&C Tech 1 to fill a one- year contract assignment in the Montgomery, AL area.
This position may require some bending, lifting, climbing, prolonged sitting, prolonged walking, walking on gravel or crawling when necessary.

Requirements:
Candidate will be required to provide transportation to various reporting locations, minus commute.
Required PPE:
Hard Hat, Safety Glasses, Gloves, Steel/Composite Toe Footwear, FR Clothing, Hearing Protection, Reflective Traffic Vest
Worker must wear EH footwear and 100% cotton clothing at all times while working in substation environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Successful candidate must live within a reasonable commute to the assigned office location
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate’s degree in electrical engineering, industrial maintenance, or related field preferred
- 0-3 years’ experience in a controls technician or similar role
- Familiar with Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics
- Working knowledge of PLCs and HMIs
- Computer skills
- Basic AC & DC electrical system understanding and troubleshooting skills
- Familiarity with electrical industry / equipment
- Good writing and communication skills
Duties & Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot protection and control relaying and associated devices
- Perform calibration of various types of protection and control relays and devices
- Assist in creating and maintaining protection and control documentation
- Assist assigned project lead with field assignments
- Maintain knowledge of current industry trends and practices
- Install, repair, and maintain protection and control systems that may include microprocessor relays, programmable logic controllers (PLCs), sensors, pumps, motors, etc.
