Commercial Accountant

<p><strong>Commercial Accountant</strong></p> <p><strong>Full Time | £40,000 – £50,000</strong></p> <p>This role sits at the centre of a busy operational site, supporting performance through accurate reporting and clear financial insight.</p> <p>You will work closely with both finance and operational teams, helping to track performance, understand costs, and ensure the numbers reflect what is actually happening day to day. It is a hands-on role where you will be expected to question, investigate and contribute to better decision-making — not just produce reports.</p> <p><strong>What you will be doing:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Producing and reviewing regular performance and management information</li> <li>Tracking costs, margins and key site KPIs</li> <li>Investigating stock movements and resolving discrepancies</li> <li>Supporting budgeting, forecasting and ongoing analysis</li> <li>Ensuring overheads, accruals and prepayments are accurately recorded</li> <li>Highlighting trends, risks and opportunities to key stakeholders</li> <li>Contributing to improvements in reporting, processes and systems</li> </ul> <p>You will be visible across the site, working with non-finance teams and building relationships to better understand what is driving performance.</p> <p><strong>What we are looking for:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience in a management accounts or commercially focused finance role</li> <li>Strong Excel skills and confidence working with data</li> <li>Able to turn numbers into clear, practical insight</li> <li>Comfortable communicating with both finance and operational teams</li> <li>Organised, with the ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment</li> <li>Manufacturing or production experience would be useful, but not essential</li> </ul> <p><strong>Why consider this role?</strong></p> <ul> <li>A commercially focused position with real exposure to operations</li> <li>Opportunity to influence decisions rather than just report on them</li> <li>Broad, varied role within a well-established business</li> <li>A chance to develop your skillset in a hands-on environment</li> </ul> <p>Please apply online or contact Sam Holt at Big Sky Additions for a full job spec.</p>
