Theatre and Venue Technician

IMH Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced Theatre & Venue Technician for our client based at the iconic Albert Halls, Bolton, BL1.

Set within the historic Bolton Town Hall, the Albert Halls hosts a diverse programme of theatre productions, live music, comedy, community events, and corporate functions. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a unique venue where no two days are the same.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for theatre productions, events, and venue hires.
  • Act as the main point of contact for touring productions during get-ins and get-outs.
  • Operate and maintain sound, lighting, and stage equipment.
  • Assist with rigging, installation, and movement of technical equipment.
  • Support visiting artists, production teams, and event staff.
  • Set up and dismantle equipment for events across the Albert Halls and external sites.
  • Maintain technical inventories and operational records.
  • Deputise for the Senior Technician when required.

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience working within a theatre or live events environment.
  • Good working knowledge of sound and lighting systems.
  • Experience working with artists, touring crews, and production teams.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and supervise staff when required.
  • Understanding of health and safety practices.
  • Physically fit and able to lift and move equipment.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.

Desirable:

  • Experience programming digital sound and lighting systems.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ theatre experience.

Hours & Pay:

  • 5 days per week (working hours confirmed at interview)
  • £14.58 – £16.07 per hour
  • Weekly pay via agency!
