Google DCX Engineering

Work Location: Bristol, Leeds, Halifax, Manchester, or Edinburgh. Candidates are required to work from the office 2 days per week at any of the listed locations.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and manage secure, scalable, and automated cloud infrastructure solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), with strong expertise across compute services and platform engineering.

• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform, while supporting modern CI/CD pipelines through tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and Harness.

• Implement and manage cloud networking and security solutions, including GCP Cloud Armor, ensuring secure-by-design principles are embedded across infrastructure and runtime environments.
  

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure services, including:

• Compute Engine

• Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Virtual Machines

• Windows Virtual Machines

• Local SSD

• Persistent Disk

• Cloud Networking

• Cloud Logging

• Cloud Monitoring

• Cloud Storage

• Cloud Key Management

• Cloud Secret Manager

• Experience working with monitoring and observability tools such as Dynatrace.

• Proficiency with GitHub Enterprise and modern DevOps practices.

• Strong experience with HashiCorp technologies, including Terraform and Packer.

• Hands-on expertise with Jenkins and CI/CD automation tools.

• Familiarity with Backstage developer portal.

• Experience using Jira Cloud and Jira Align for Agile delivery and project tracking.
