Fletcher George Recruitment is supporting an established independent firm of Chartered Accountants in Guildford, Surrey with the appointment of an Audit and Accounts Director as part of its long-term succession planning.

This opportunity sits within a firm with a strong local reputation and a loyal client base built over many years. The role has been created to support future leadership, offering a clear and credible route to Partner within a collaborative and relationship-led environment.

The Firm

You will join a well-established independent firm of Chartered Accountants with a strong presence across Guildford and the wider Surrey market.

The firm works closely with a broad portfolio of long-standing clients, including owner-managed businesses, private clients, corporate groups and charities. Much of the work is relationship-led, with senior team members actively involved in supporting clients over the long term.

The Role – Audit and Accounts Director, Guildford

As an Audit and Accounts Director based in Guildford, Surrey, you will take on a key leadership role within the firm, combining client delivery with strategic input.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading audit engagements and overseeing delivery across a varied client portfolio
• Reviewing statutory accounts prepared under UK GAAP (FRS 102)
• Providing advisory support across business planning, technical accounting and growth strategy
• Working closely with Partners on succession planning and the future direction of the firm
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships across Surrey and the South East
• Supporting business development activity and contributing to the firm’s continued growth
• Mentoring and developing team members within an ACA / ACCA training environment

About You

We are keen to speak with individuals who bring:

• ACA or ACCA qualification
• Strong experience across audit and accounts within a UK accountancy practice
• Experience operating at Senior Manager or Director level
• A commercial and collaborative approach to client relationships
• Leadership capability with a genuine interest in developing others
• A long-term view towards Partnership
