About the Role
An international manufacturer in Lawrenceville, GA, is seeking an experienced Design & Process Engineer to join its team on a direct-hire basis. $90,000 – $95,000 | Monday – Friday What You'll Do As the Design & Process Engineer, you will plan, direct, and coordinate manufacturing processes and equipment to produce high-quality products and components. Establish process conditions for new products and revise existing manufacturing processesTroubleshoot issues with molding processes, materials, and equipmentAnalyze data to identify improvement opportunities and optimize manufacturing operationsTrain process technicians in scientific molding practicesMaintain mold process sheets and document design iterations, manufacturing processes, and quality assurance measuresProgram robots and peripheral equipmentLead cross-functional project teams for new product introduction, continuous improvement, and nonconformance resolutionDevelop manufacturing processes and tools to meet contractual, program, design, and quality requirementsCreate engineering documentation, including models, drawings, routings, testing specifications, reports, and work instructionsDisposition of manufacturing non-conformances and determine root causes and corrective actionsMeet with customers to define needs and develop solutionsCo-develop cost estimates for new process implementation and manufacturing quotesParticipate in design, manufacturing, and test documentation reviews What We're Looking For Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environmentKnowledge of injection mold structure and mechanical movementsKnowledge of plastic polymersProficient at reading, analyzing, and interpreting customer drawings, specifications, and standardsProficient with computer systems; CAD experience (SolidWorks, NX, AutoCAD, or similar)Project management experience with a proven track record of organizing and scheduling effectivelyKnowledge of 6 Sigma, 8D processes, Lean, or similar methodologiesKnowledge of Thermoset or BMC Molding processes preferredMachining, press/forming, welding, brazing, heat-treat, or inspection experienceDie, tool, fixture, and gage design experience Aerospace industry experience, minimum 3 years Experience optimizing high mix / low volume production Sheet metal experience To apply for the Design & Process Engineer position, please submit your resume in response to this ad or fill out an application on our website, impactstaffing.com.
