Job Summary:
This position is an individual contributor role, with no direct reports. Primary responsibility is the generation and management of support systems for manufacturing equipment and processes: documentation of technical intellectual property, technical support for ongoing maintenance and production operations, and implementation of equipment and process improvement plans.
Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and technical solutions to improve equipment uptime, capability, reliability and throughput
Provide technical support to maintenance operations to improve the effectiveness of troubleshooting of equipment and process failures,
Create effective equipment strategies to enable cost-effective maintenance
Provide technical ownership of manufacturing equipment and systems
Provide leadership and technical expertise for Capex projects and biannual outages
Mentor salary and hourly personnel to improve the team’s overall understanding of the mechanical systems in the department
Improve equipment performance and reliability through planned projects, gathering input from operators, crafts and plant floor observations
Develop long term solutions and mitigation plans for the most impactful root causes of equipment breakdowns
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field required
Three to five years of mechanical (maintenance) engineering experience required
AutoCad experience required
Experience with Cranes, Hydraulics, Pumps, and other Rotating Equipment required
Ability to troubleshoot complex issues and implement solutions
Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably Metals
Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), preferably SAP
Possess the fundamentals of equipment reliability
Understanding of Root Cause Analysis
