About the Role

One of our primary schools based in Darlington is seeking an experienced and committed Teacher to join its multidisciplinary team. The provision supports children and young people recovering from trauma and needing additional support for SEND, offering education within a therapeutic, relationship-based and outdoor learning environment. This role would suit a teacher with an interest in trauma-informed practice and an appreciation of the benefits of working in a rural or agricultural setting. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver individualised educational programmes aligned with the National Curriculum, with a focus on core subjects Adapt teaching approaches to meet pupils’ emotional, academic, and developmental needs Support pupils’ self-esteem, confidence, and engagement in learning Work collaboratively with education, care, and therapeutic staff to provide integrated support Contribute to educational and therapeutic activities, including outdoor and practical learning Prepare written reports and attend case conferences as required Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and resilience Maintain accurate records and work in line with organisational policies and procedures Act as a positive role model, demonstrating professionalism, sound judgement, and flexibility Requirements Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent Experience working with children with SEND, SEMH, or trauma-related needs is desirable Enhanced DBS check (required) Safeguarding The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
