Sports & Behaviour Mentor – Alternative Provision RoleCrawley, West Sussex
Start Date: ASAPContract Type: Full-Time, Term Time OnlySalary: £102.67 per dayWorking Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm
We are currently recruiting for motivated and resilient Sports & Behaviour Mentors to join an alternative provision setting in Crawley. This role involves supporting children and young people with SEN and/or SEMH needs, using sport, structure, and positive engagement strategies to improve behaviour, confidence, and learning outcomes.
This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals who are passionate about building relationships and using an active, hands-on approach to support young people who may find mainstream education challenging.
Key Responsibilities:
Support pupils in both classroom and alternative learning environments
Deliver targeted 1:1 and small group interventions
Use sport and physical activity to promote engagement and positive behaviour
Build strong, consistent relationships with young people
Support emotional regulation, resilience and confidence building
Work collaboratively with teaching and support staff
Encourage inclusion, participation and positive outcomes
Follow all safeguarding procedures at all times
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience working with children or young people (SEN/SEMH experience desirable)
A confident, energetic and resilient approach
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
The ability to engage young people through sport or activity-based learning
A calm, consistent and supportive manner
A genuine passion for helping young people succeed
