Job Description JOB OVERVIEW The Kinetic Group is a world leader in the design, manufacturing, and distribution of small caliber ammunition under the iconic brands B&P, CCI, Federal Premium, Fiocchi, HEVI-Shot, Remington and Speer. As the Project Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for machine build/assembly, parts fabrication, installation, and troubleshooting. Support new equipment during debug and ramp-up on production floor. Perform basic machine shop and metal working processes such as operate manual mills, lathes, surface grinders, polish dies and sharpen knives. Other work as directed. This position reports to the Centerfire Engineering Manager, Zachary Esch and is based out of our Lonoke Location. What you’ll do: Perform machine build/assembly, parts fabrication, installation, and troubleshooting. Support new equipment during debug and ramp-up on production floor. Perform basic machine shop and metal working processes such as operate manual mills, lathes, surface grinders, polish dies and sharpen knives. Maintain all production machinery. Includes troubleshooting, diagnosis of problems, dismantling and reassembling machines and related equipment. Other work as directed. Experience you bring: Demonstrated ability to effectively troubleshoot Demonstrated above average craft or mechanical ability (carpentry, millwright, tinsmith, plumber) Training and experience in a machine shop or knowledge of metal working machining and processes Ability to operate surface grinder, polish dies and sharpen knives Demonstrated effective written and interpersonal communication skills Positive customer service attitude Demonstrated leadership/organizational skills Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and effectively with a minimum of supervision Ability to weld, braze, and solder all types of metals (steel, aluminum, etc…) with proficiency. Ability to rivet Experience grinding, filing, and threading metal Basic welding skills Works independently with minimum supervision (self starter). Able to sketch simple parts and read basic blue prints. Capable of doing setups and changeovers on production equipment in the assigned area. Able to use precision measuring instruments such as micrometer, caliper, and dial indicators. You might have: Experience in the department where the opening exists Electronic experience or education Knowledge of/experience in pneumatics, hydraulics, welding Tinsmith experience Personal computer skills Physical Requirements: Majority of the time is spent identifying the problems that need repair by listening and talking with other associates. Frequent lifting up to 10 pounds with occasional lifting, pushing, and pulling of weights up to 50 pounds. Walking/Stooping/Kneeling/Crouching/Crawling required. Mental Requirements: Reading and attention to detail required. Basic math required to read blueprints and working on lathe. Must be flexible and have the ability to cope with stress from multiple job assignments and deadlines, as well as constant interruptions. Working Environment: Incumbent subject to fumes, dirt, dust, mist and gases when in plant. Regular production floor work causes exposure to mechanical/electrical equipment hazards as well as burning material (welding). Some time spent doing maintenance outdoors, thus exposure to temperature changes. Approximately 50% of the time spent work with or around others. Work Environment: Employee work assignments may include tasks working with and/or exposure to potentially hazardous areas, including flammables and explosives. Safety training is provided to all employees to ensure compliance with company and federal regulations. Pay Range: Hourly Rate: $26.54 - $32.19 The actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on variables including experience, geographic location, education, and skills/achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.
