Rhino Medical is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) in Long Beach, California, for a locum position supporting outpatient cardiac surgery patient management. This role involves managing pre- and post-operative patients, conducting history and physical exams, and providing follow-up care within inpatient acute care units and outpatient clinics.

This opportunity provides a focused clinical environment where providers perform in-hospital acute care and outpatient follow-up, utilizing the Epic EMR system. It offers a consistent weekday schedule, ideal for clinicians experienced in cardiac patient management and inpatient care settings.

Practice Environment
Providers will manage cardiac surgery patients pre- and post-operatively in inpatient acute care units and conduct outpatient follow-ups in a clinical setting. The environment emphasizes outpatient and inpatient care without performing surgical procedures, supported by modern EMR tools including Epic to enhance documentation and workflow efficiency.

Schedule & Coverage

  • Monday through Friday, 08:00 – 17:00
  • Five shifts per week, daytime hours
  • Inpatient acute care and outpatient follow-up

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Manage cardiac surgery patients pre- and post-operatively
  • Conduct comprehensive history and physical examinations
  • Provide outpatient follow-up visits
  • Deliver in-hospital acute care services within inpatient units

Candidate Requirements

  • Current California RN license
  • Current California furnishing license
  • Active DEA registration
  • Certified as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP)
  • BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association
  • Experience managing cardiac surgery patients pre- and post-operatively preferred
