About the Role
Our client is seeking a Senior Program Manager to lead and coordinate multiple IT workstreams within a large-scale market transformation initiative, ensuring strategic alignment, cross-functional delivery, risk mitigation, and successful implementation of enterprise systems.
Must Have skills
15+ years of program management and/or project management experience, preferably in IT system implementation
Experience managing multiple cross-functional projects and complex business initiatives
Strong program planning, coordination, and dependency management experience
Risk management and issue resolution experience in large-scale programs
Resource and budget management experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills with stakeholder and leadership reporting experience
Nice to have skills
Degree or Diploma in Business Administration, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
PMP designation or equivalent
Experience in electricity, utilities, or energy-related environments
Knowledge of wholesale electricity markets and regulatory processes
Vendor management experience, including RFP coordination and contract document review
Change management knowledge and experience supporting stakeholder buy-in
Responsibilities
Develop and manage the overall execution plan for the program
Coordinate multiple projects and sub-projects to ensure alignment with program objectives
Manage cross-project dependencies, timelines, budgets, scope, and deliverables
Partner with program managers, delivery leads, sponsors, and business stakeholders to support execution
Identify program risks, develop mitigation plans, and resolve issues quickly
Allocate resources effectively across initiatives to support delivery commitments
Oversee vendor coordination, implementation planning, and related procurement activities
Track milestones, monitor performance, and report progress to leadership
Support readiness, cutover, transition, and post-implementation planning across projects
Responsible for supporting a major IT initiative tied to a restructured market program
Works closely with senior leadership responsible for program oversight
Ensures initiatives align to broader strategic objectives and implementation goals
Engages stakeholders throughout the full program lifecycle to understand and meet business needs
Collaborates with sponsors, business leaders, project managers, and delivery leads to define work plans and resource needs
Facilitates decision-making through business and IT governance channels
Manages vendor performance and supports review of SOWs, MSAs, and MSSAs
Ensures vendor implementation plans are integrated with internal project plans
Prepares detailed status updates, planning materials, and issue-resolution reporting for leadership
Communicates with key stakeholders to gain support and identify opportunities for improvement
Supports market participant readiness activities
Supports internal stakeholder readiness activities
Manages cutover activities and transition to production
Develops transition-to-support plans for effective post-implementation support
Requires leadership skills to motivate teams and resolve conflicts
Requires adaptability and resilience in response to changing priorities and timelines
