Reception Teaching Assistant Leeds

We are seeking a nurturing and enthusiastic Reception Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in the LS13 area of Leeds from September 2026. This full-time role is offered on a long-term basis, with a competitive daily rate of £95–£105, depending on experience. The successful candidate will support children within a Reception class, helping them develop the key skills, confidence, and independence needed for a successful start to their education.

The school is a friendly and inclusive primary setting with a strong focus on early years development, pupil wellbeing, and creating a positive learning environment. Staff work collaboratively to provide a safe, stimulating, and engaging classroom where children are encouraged to explore, communicate, and develop a love of learning.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support Reception pupils with play-based learning, phonics, early literacy, and numeracy activities.
• Assist the class teacher with preparing resources and maintaining effective classroom routines.
• Encourage positive behaviour, independence, and social development.
• Support pupils’ emotional wellbeing and help them settle into school life.
• Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning and development targets.

Pre-requisites:

• Experience working with Reception-aged children or within an EYFS setting.
• A nurturing, patient, and enthusiastic approach to supporting young learners.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Understanding of the EYFS framework and child-centred learning.
• Commitment to a full-time, long-term role from September 2026.
