Year 1 Teacher Leeds

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 1 Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in the LS15 area of Leeds from September 2026. This full-time role offers a competitive daily rate of £160–£200, depending on experience. The successful candidate will take responsibility for a Year 1 class, delivering engaging lessons and supporting pupils as they transition from the Early Years Foundation Stage into Key Stage 1.

The school is a friendly and inclusive primary setting with a strong focus on pupil wellbeing, high-quality teaching, and positive relationships. Staff work collaboratively to create a nurturing and engaging environment where children are encouraged to develop confidence, independence, and a love of learning. Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons in line with the Year 1 curriculum and national expectations.
• Support pupils’ development in phonics, reading, writing, and mathematics.
• Assess, monitor, and track pupil progress to ensure positive learning outcomes.
• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes engagement and independence.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and parents to support pupil achievement.

Pre-requisites:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
• Experience teaching within KS1, ideally Year 1.
• Strong understanding of phonics and early years transition into Key Stage 1.
• Effective classroom and behaviour management skills.
• A proactive, organised, and enthusiastic approach to teaching.
