We are seeking an Area Sales Manager to strengthen our Sales Department in Zoetermeer.

Seas of Solutions develops and produces IT and electronic equipment for the maritime markets through our brands Kannad Marine, McMurdo and Netwave. We have a solid reputation in the shipping industry thanks to our specialized experience in Voyage Data Recorders (VDR 'maritime black box') and beacons. All our maritime products are sold by our own sales team through our distributors to shipping companies and shipowners all over the world.

For our offices in Zoetermeer, we have a vacancy for the position of:

 

Area Sales Manager

The Area Sales Manager is responsible for planning, implementing and directing the sales activities of the Company in his/her area and with his/her team. Furthermore, you are to expand and maintain the domestic and international market for our company's products and services.

 

The position will report to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCC) of the company, and you will be part of the Worldwide Sales Team.

 

What we expect from you:

  • Establishing a strong relationship with our partners in the region; Defining the right strategy for each region/country by working together with our partners and be innovative in opening new markets where possible.
  • Ensuring that you will react to inquiries within the agreed period in order to acquire orders against company KPI’s with respect to success rate, margins and secondary conditions.
  • Being responsible for all budgetary expectations in the region. This may include managing cost spending in region, marketing expenses and meeting predetermined sales goals. Annual budget recommendations are expected with a focus on growing market share.
  • Ensuring that all orders are registered and executed in an unambiguous manner, providing the operations with all relevant instructions to execute the orders, first time right.
  • Reporting on market developments and providing suggestions for product improvements, product developments and price adjustments as applicable for his/her area.
  • Observing and reporting on potential process improvements in his/her team with focus on efficiency, effectiveness and customer satisfaction.
  • Working in close cooperation with his/her team of sales inside, sales admin and cross department colleagues ensuring on time collection of debts to meet the set KPI’s
  • Maintaining relations with all relevant stakeholders to meet customer expectations and published company goals.
  • Applying the processes in meeting the quality standards
  • Reporting periodically to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCC) as per agreed reporting template
  • Being accountable for the results, based on sales processes in the applicable company (ERP and CRM) systems.
  • Being responsible for cultivating and growing new business that will reflect the mission of the Company in a transparent manner.

 

Who are you?

  • You hold a Commercial degree (BA/BSc) in a University of Applied Sciences (or equivalent work experience)
  • You have at least 3-5 years of relevant working experience in an international sales (preferably maritime) environment
  • Your ability to travel
  • Experienced in developing and implementing sales strategies for technology driven products.
  • You possess the energy and the drive to achieve sales targets
  • You have good skills in salesmanship, communication and interaction, be able to build relationships, be proactive and reliable in communication with customers.
  • You are fluent in English + a good command (German/Dutch is preferable) in other languages is favorable
  • You are a good negotiator
