SEMH Pupil Support Assistant – LittlehamptonLittlehampton, West Sussex
Start Date: ASAPContract Type: Full-Time, Term Time OnlySalary: £92.63 – £100 per dayWorking Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm
We are currently seeking a dedicated and resilient SEMH Pupil Support Assistant to join a specialist setting in Littlehampton. You will be supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs within a structured, nurturing and supportive classroom environment, helping them to access learning and develop both academically and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide classroom support to pupils within the classroom and wider school environment
Deliver consistent 1:1 and small group support
Encourage engagement, independence and positive learning behaviours
Work closely with teaching staff to implement tailored strategies and support plans
Support positive behaviour management using calm and consistent approaches
Promote emotional wellbeing, social development and resilience
Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience providing classroom support to children or young people with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour (or willingness to learn)
A calm, patient and resilient approach
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
An understanding of behaviour support strategies and emotional regulation
A proactive, reliable and committed attitude
A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs
