We are looking for a highly skilled Chief Accountant who will have ownership for the Accounting function at Ingenico UK and other EMEA entities, covering several geographies. In this role you’ll report to the Head of Finance. You will work in close collaboration with the UK finance team as well as peers across EMEA and global finance teams, not to mention the business itself.
Your day-to-day responsibilities include
Ensure all the accounting-related functions of the company are flowing smoothly
Supervise the AP & AR activities (offshore) to ensure timely service delivery to the company
Enable a smooth and robust financial closing process, in alignment with our standards
Cash management incl factoring processes, cashflow budgeting and weekly forecasting
Lead in identifying, developing and implementing effective internal control mechanisms and drive consistent improvements in accounting processes and routines
Support the preparation of statutory reporting in strict adherence to accounting standards
Be the main point of contact to both internal & external auditors
Relationship-building is absolutely key - HMRC, banks, Ingenico customers & suppliers, external auditors, professional accountancy & tax specialists, consultants
Validation and verification of payments for accuracy and accountability
Tax – Corporation tax payment calculations, VAT returns, and annual tax computations (in close coordination with our external advisor), including R&D Tax Credit and Patent Box
Insurance policies – working with our brokers to implement annual policies

Stakeholders at all levels within the group benefit from your ability to guide to the best accounting treatment in line with financial strategy
Auditors & senior management recognise your authority as an expert in local accounting norms
Skills we can't do without
You have a deep understanding of local and IFRS accounting standards. Ideally, you are a Chartered Accountant (CA, CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent)
You know how to prepare statutory accounts and Companies House filings
You know how to prepare Tax returns (VAT and Corporation Tax), and have experience with R&D Tax Credits and Patent Box relief
Motivation and passion for making a difference, great sense of autonomy
You are a great communicator
Big 4 audit background and >3 years of work experience in similar position
Relevant Master’s degree from a recognised university
Must have vast ERP experience and advanced IT skills
Must have high standards of integrity and ethical practice
