Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking a Medical Assistant for a travel assignment in Capitol Heights, Maryland. This role supports an outpatient occupational medicine and urgent care setting, handling routine patient care, testing, injury assistance, and front/back office responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Opportunity Details

- Schedule: 9:00 AM–6:30 PM, Monday–Friday
- 30-minute lunch break
Clinical Scope
- Prepare patients for physical examinations, including taking vital signs
- Perform ancillary testing as requested, including phlebotomy, PFTs, audiogram testing, and respirator fit testing
- Assist providers during examinations and treatment
- Perform routine medical procedures as ordered by the treating clinician
- Apply bandages, dressings, and splints as ordered by the treating clinician
- Dispense medications and DME as ordered by the treating clinician in accordance with state regulations
- Support injury care and procedure set-up as needed
- Complete quality assurance activities on equipment, medical devices, and testing processes
- Maintain supplies, clean rooms, and equipment; stock exam rooms
- Operate medical devices and equipment, including calibration and record keeping
- Notify the supervisor if equipment is not functioning properly or supplies are needed
- Assist with patient flow and volume in partnership with center leadership
- Keep patients informed of expected wait times
- Ensure accuracy in documentation and follow HIPAA and safety guidelines
Practice Environment
- Outpatient occupational medicine and urgent care setting with scheduled and walk-in patients
- Fast-paced environment requiring efficient patient intake, clinical support, and administrative accuracy
Requirements
- Active and valid Maryland Medical Assistant role eligibility (MA) with an active and valid Maryland license
- Minimum 2 years of recent clinical experience in a fast-paced outpatient setting
- Experience with phlebotomy and injury care
- Experience with charting/documentation
- Ability to work efficiently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
- Reliable commute to Capitol Heights, Maryland
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with outpatient occupational medicine and urgent care workflows
- Ability to start within two weeks of confirmation
