About the Role

Summary Regal Boats is seeking a motivated and hands-on Composites Engineering Intern to join our Engineering team. This role is ideal for a student passionate about materials, fiberglass construction, and marine manufacturing.   The Composites Engineering Intern will support the design, development, and testing of composite structures used in boat construction, including hulls, decks, and structural components. This individual will gain real-world experience working closely with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to improve product performance, durability, and manufacturability.   Key Responsibilities Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.   Assist in the design and development of composite structures, including hulls, decks, stringer systems, and other fiberglass components Support material selection and evaluate different composite layups, resins, and reinforcement materials Work alongside the Engineering and Lamination teams to improve manufacturing processes and product quality Assist in creating and reviewing technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions Participate in prototype builds, testing, and validation of composite components Conduct basic engineering calculations related to the strength, weight, and performance of materials Document design changes, testing results, and process improvements Support root cause analysis and troubleshooting of composite-related issues in production Maintain a safe and organized work environment, following all safety protocols Perform other duties as assigned   Required Qualifications Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Composites Engineering, or a related field (Junior or above) Interest or exposure to composite materials, fiberglass, or marine manufacturing Basic understanding of engineering principles (mechanics, materials, or structures) Conversational English   Preferred Qualifications Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Ability to work both independently and collaboratively High attention to detail and organizational skills Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks or similar) is a plus Hands-on mindset with interest in working in a manufacturing environment
