The role would suit someone with import customs clearance experience who is confident handling customs entries, checking documentation and working in a fast-paced freight forwarding environment.</p> <h2>The Role</h2> <p>As an Import Customs Clerk, you will be responsible for completing import customs declarations, checking shipping documentation and ensuring shipments are cleared accurately and in line with HMRC requirements.</p> <h2>Key Responsibilities</h2> <ul> <li>Complete import customs entries accurately and efficiently</li> <li>Prepare and check customs documentation</li> <li>Classify goods using commodity codes</li> <li>Check commercial invoices, packing lists, Bills of Lading and airway bills</li> <li>Liaise with customers, suppliers, hauliers and internal departments</li> <li>Monitor shipments and ensure clearances are completed on time</li> <li>Resolve customs queries, holds, errors and documentation issues</li> <li>Ensure compliance with HMRC requirements and company procedures</li> <li>Maintain accurate records and update internal systems</li> <li>Support the wider freight forwarding team when required</li> </ul> <h2>Requirements</h2> <ul> <li>Previous experience in import customs clearance</li> <li>Good understanding of import procedures and customs documentation</li> <li>Knowledge of commodity codes, CDS and HMRC requirements</li> <li>Experience using customs systems such as Sequoia, Destin8, CNS or similar would be advantageous</li> <li>Freight forwarding, logistics or shipping experience would be beneficial</li> <li>Strong attention to detail and accuracy</li> <li>Confident communication skills</li> <li>Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines</li> <li>Good IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel</li> </ul> <h2>Package</h2> <ul> <li>Salary up to <strong>£32,000</strong>, depending on experience</li> <li><strong>Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm</strong></li> <li><strong>Company bonus</strong></li> <li>Permanent position</li> <li>Bradford-based role</li> <li>Opportunity to join a <strong>global logistics company</strong></li> <li>Excellent working culture</li> <li>Genuine room to progress and develop your career</li> </ul> <p>WR Logistics are the #1 recruitment partner for all vacancies in the logistics industry.
