About the Role

<p><strong>Senior Civil Engineer &#8211; Infrastructure &amp; Drainage | Wigan</strong></p> <p><strong>Salary up to £55,000 + Benefits </strong></p> <p>A well-established and growing civil and structural engineering consultancy based in <strong>Wigan</strong> is seeking an experienced <strong>Senior Civil Engineer</strong> to join its infrastructure team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated engineer to play a key role in delivering a diverse range of development and infrastructure projects while helping to mentor junior staff.</p> <p><strong>The Role</strong><br /> As a Senior Civil Engineer, you will lead the design and delivery of civil infrastructure and drainage schemes for a variety of residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments. You will work closely with clients, local authorities, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and to the highest technical standards.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Lead the design of <strong>drainage and infrastructure schemes</strong>, including surface water, foul water, and highway layouts</li> <li>Prepare and review technical reports, drawings, and calculations</li> <li>Manage projects from concept through to detailed design and construction stages</li> <li>Undertake drainage strategies, flood risk assessments, and SuDS design</li> <li>Liaise with local authorities, statutory bodies, and clients</li> <li>Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and technicians</li> <li>Ensure designs comply with current regulations, design standards, and industry best practice</li> </ul> <p><strong>Requirements</strong></p> <ul> <li>Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline</li> <li>Significant experience in civil infrastructure and drainage design within a consultancy environment</li> <li>Strong knowledge of <strong>Section 38, Section 104, and SuDS design principles</strong></li> <li>Proficiency in design software such as <strong>Civil 3D, MicroDrainage or InfoDrainage</strong>, and AutoCAD</li> <li>Experience coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and external stakeholders</li> <li>Working towards or already holding <strong>Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status</strong> (ICE or similar) is desirable</li> <li>Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills</li> </ul> <p><strong>What&#8217;s on Offer</strong></p> <ul> <li>Competitive salary (dependent on experience)</li> <li>Opportunity to work on a wide range of development and infrastructure projects</li> <li>Supportive team environment with clear career progression</li> <li>Professional development and support towards chartership</li> <li>Flexible / hybrid working options</li> </ul> <p><strong>Location</strong><br /> Wigan, Greater Manchester.</p> <p>If you are a driven <strong>Senior Civil Engineer</strong> looking to take the next step in your career within a progressive consultancy, we would like to hear from you.</p> <p><strong>Apply today</strong> to find out more about this opportunity.</p> <p><img src="https://counter.adcourier.com/TWlrYWVsYVJhYmFpb3R0aS4wODM5Ny4xMTMwOUBwZW5ndWlucmVjcnVpdG1lbnQuYXBsaXRyYWsuY29t.gif"></p>
