About the Role
<p><strong>Veterinary Surgeon – 4-Day Week – Hertfordshire</strong></p>
<p>A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to join a well-established small animal team based in <strong>St Albans, Hertfordshire</strong>. This role offers an excellent mix of consulting, operating, and hospital work, giving you real clinical variety within a supportive, collaborative environment.</p>
<p>You’ll be joining a multi-site small animal group with access to a purpose-built hospital, modern diagnostic equipment, and a knowledgeable team of vets and nurses with diverse clinical interests.</p>
<p><strong>Hours & Rota</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>
<p>42 hours per week over 4 days</p>
<li>
<p>1 in 3 Saturdays</p>
<li>
<p>1 in 12 Sundays</p>
<li>
<p>1 Bank Holiday per year</p>

<h3><strong>The Role</strong></h3>
<p>This position offers a balanced and varied caseload, including consulting, operating, and hospital-based duties. You’ll work within a friendly, experienced team and have opportunities to develop your clinical interests with supported CPD and certificate funding.</p>

<h3><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></h3>
<ul>

<p>Deliver high-quality first-opinion small animal veterinary care</p>
<li>
<p>Perform routine surgeries and medical work-ups</p>
<li>
<p>Build strong client relationships and ensure continuity of care</p>
<li>
<p>Work collaboratively with colleagues across multiple local sites</p>
<li>
<p>Contribute to a positive, team-focused culture</p>
</ul>

<h3><strong>Requirements</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li>
<p>Minimum 2 years’ experience in a UK small animal practice</p>
<li>
<p>Competent in routine surgery and consultations</p>
<li>
<p>Strong communication and teamwork skills</p>
<li>
<p>Confident managing your own caseload</p>
<li>
<p>Willingness to support other local branches when required</p>
