About the Role

Summary: The Bay Area News Group is seeking a Special Sections Editor to develop and track content strategies. You’ll compile content while determining what’s most important and compelling for publication in our variety of products. If you have strong organizational, communication, and time management skills, we’d like to talk with you! What you will do: Collect, track, evaluate, and compile content while determining the most appropriate content for publication in a variety of publications Collaborate on content strategies and manage resources including third-party vendors and freelance writers to find or create compelling content Edit content according to AP Standards and review, send revises, or approve final pages prior to publication Creative writing and general knowledge of page design is required Oversee weekly uploading of content to a WordPress CMS Utilize communication skills to work with clients, sales team members, and freelance writers Project management with minimal supervision on a daily basis What you will bring: Ability to edit content according to AP Standards General understanding of how to upload content to a WordPress CMS Knowledge of Google Suite (Gmail, Docs, Excel), Acrobat, and FileZilla Junior College (AA) Degree in a related field or equivalent experience required 1 year of marketing, media, or journalism experience Benefits and Compensation: The hourly range is $19.00 - $21.00.
