<p><strong>Sliding Head Machinist 6890</strong></p>
<p><strong>Location: </strong><br />
Stroud, Gloucestershire</p>
<p><strong>Hours:</strong><br />
Day Shift</p>
<p><strong>Salary: </strong><br />
£17.50 – £18.00 per hour dependent on experience</p>
<p><strong>Key Responsibilities of a CNC Setter Operator – Sliding Head:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Set, operate, and programme sliding head CNC machines</li>
<li>Produce precision machined components to specification</li>
<li>Work with Star and Citizen sliding head machinery</li>
<li>Read and interpret engineering drawings</li>
<li>Perform tool changes, offsets, and programme adjustments</li>
<li>Inspect components using measuring equipment to ensure quality standards</li>
<li>Maintain machine efficiency and production output</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Key Skills of a CNC Setter Operator – Sliding Head:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Minimum of 3 years’ experience setting and programming sliding head CNC machines</li>
<li>Experience with Star and/or Citizen machines</li>
<li>Ability to edit and optimise programmes</li>
<li>Strong understanding of precision engineering and machining practices</li>
<li>Experience using inspection equipment including micrometers and verniers</li>
<li>Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail</li>
</ul>
