You will be the lead Development Management Officer for the consideration of major and strategic planning applications, including providing pre-application advice, input in master plans and working with partners to ensure infrastructure provision and ensure delivery of corporate priorities.

You will prepare and present Committee reports on major proposals of strategic importance and you'll prepare statements, proofs of evidence for public enquiries and act as professional witness.

To apply for this role you will need to be a degree qualified Town Planner with a strong development management background. You will need to be comfortable managing your own caseload and able to work well under pressure when required. You will need to be well organised and confident dealing with external third parties and able to produce well written communications. Your strong knowledge of UK planning legislation will enable you to provide pre-application advice and you will be confident when advising developers on planning proposals; good negotiation skills are essential.

This role is based in the Essex and our client is looking pay £55/hr Umbrella, the role is inside IR35. Initially this role will be offered as a 6 month contract.

Our client offers hybrid working, with 2 days a week in the office.
