About the Role
Pay: $62 per hour Location: ON-SITE, Tampa, FL Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm Sirius Staffing is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Smart Grid Network Analyst to join a dynamic team dedicated to advancing energy infrastructure through innovative network solutions. The Smart Grid Network Analyst is responsible for the planning, design, implementation, and ongoing support of Smart Grid Radio Frequency (RF) network infrastructure. This role ensures optimal network performance, reliability, and scalability while supporting the integration of Smart Grid applications such as Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI), Distribution Automation, and SCADA systems. Working under general oversight, the Senior Analyst leads and consults on projects of varying complexity, collaborates with internal stakeholders and external vendors, and plays a key role in advancing Smart Grid network capabilities. Key Responsibilities 1. Network Planning, Design, and Implementation (30%) Design and implement Smart Grid RF network infrastructure aligned with project requirements, capacity planning, and operational support needs Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation, including configurations, settings, and equipment/site records Define technical specifications and evaluate new RF network hardware and software Lead network design initiatives for small to large-scale projects Develop automation scripts and tools to streamline processes and address system limitations 2. Implementation and Configuration (30%) Install, configure, and provision RF network hardware and software Manage firmware updates and configuration changes across RF network devices Coordinate and execute firmware updates for AMI meters and communication systems (RF and PLC) while minimizing operational disruptions Prepare, kit, and validate equipment for field deployment Assist in developing job plans, including sequencing, labor estimates, and material requirements 3. Network Support and Monitoring (20%) Monitor Smart Grid RF network performance using Network Management Systems Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve network performance and reliability issues Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation Ensure system uptime and reliability through proactive maintenance and issue resolution 4. Leadership and Collaboration (20%) Lead projects and provide technical guidance across departments Collaborate with vendor engineering teams to enhance network performance and reliability Coordinate installation and support efforts with internal teams and contractors Provide mentorship and cross-training to peers and team members Additional Responsibilities Participate in storm response efforts in accordance with company storm plans Coordinate RF network installations with internal departments and external contractors Ensure compliance with company safety standards and operational procedures Supervision Indirect oversight of linemen, contract crews, and Radio Electricians Required Competencies Strong technical knowledge of RF networking, switching, routing, DNS/DHCP Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills Ownership, accountability, and results orientation Effective teamwork and communication Attention to detail and organizational skills Adaptability and ability to lead change initiatives Commitment to safety and operational excellence Physical Requirements Ability to lift and handle equipment up to 50 pounds Perform wiring, soldering, and equipment connections regularly Extended periods of standing and walking Occasional exposure to operational and electrical equipment environments Sirius Staffing is an equal-opportunity employer.
