About the Role
The Vice President of Accounting provides firmwide leadership over accounting, financial reporting, tax, audit, and regulatory compliance across a diversified property operations and development portfolio. This role ensures accurate GAAP-compliant reporting, strong internal controls, and full compliance with LIHTC and other regulatory programs, while overseeing cost certifications, credit delivery, and tax optimization strategies. Serving as the primary accounting and compliance authority, the VP of Accounting coordinates all external audit, tax, and advisory relationships and supports budgeting, financial analysis, and strategic initiatives that enhance portfolio performance and investor outcomes. This role is hybrid with monthly travel (or weekly, depending on where the candidate lives) to the client's Springfield, MO, office.
