About the Role
Product Development & Engineering Services
From initial concept through production launch, our product development and engineering services guide each program with practical insight and manufacturing expertise. Our engineers collaborate with your team to refine part geometry, material selection, and process strategy while applying design for manufacturing (DFM) services to improve efficiency and cost control. We focus on clear communication and measurable results that keep your project moving forward.
Unlike our competition, we provide design support from the very beginning. Our full-time engineers on staff work with your engineers to design a cost-effective part that perfectly meets your needs. Most companies will offer reactions through Design for Manufacturability – we help you with design from square one.
This service not only results in a product of the utmost quality but reduces the design timeline by removing the back and forth that usually extends the process. You get a better product, faster – one more example of smarter manufacturing at work.
Research & Development
At our Lupine Research Division, we specialize in R&D and material science in polymers, metals, and coatings. We focus on identifying new materials to improve product functionality and developing innovative processes to address the changing needs of our customers.
We also can provide full FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis) to identify potential gaps within the design or process upfront and utilize simulative software to improve outcomes before any fabrication starts.
Whether you need help refining a part design or validating a complex assembly, our cross-functional product development team works with you to ensure feasibility, performance, and manufacturability.
Prototyping
Preliminary models to illustrate a concept or fully functional and “production level” metal and plastic prototyping capabilities and everything in between are available from Weiss-Aug.
Our Laser Lab Technology Center is equipped with best-in-class cutting and etching equipment as well as 3D printers for faster and more accurate metal & plastic prototype development.
Early Phase Bridge Tooling
Bridge tooling can offer the stability and robust processing of production level tooling with a lower price commitment and more flexibility for future iterations. Additionally, PPAP and IQ, OQ, PQ requirements can be achieved on these platforms should your production volumes not require additional investment.
For Progressive stamping bridge tool platforms, we use lighter tool steels and fewer stations. We design and fabricate bridge dies that can handle from ten thousand to a few hundred thousand parts. If you have an overmolded or insert molded product, typically we can utilize bases we have in stock to customize with inserts for your specific part.
We bring together design, tooling, prototyping, and testing under one roof — reducing risk and getting your product to market faster.
