Posted Thu 02 July 2026, 11:00 AM Ref: OR/083419 Job Title Food Safety Inspectors - South Yorkshire Discipline Environmental Health Specialism Food Contract Type Contract Salary £35-£70 per inspection Location Yorkshire We have a long-standing inspection contract with a client in South Yorkshire where we deliver around 1750 food premises inspections each year. The premises are a mixture of predominantly low risk Cat C and D and Unrated new premises. We may also be asked to carry out some Cat B and High Risk Unrated inspections and Cat E premises. We are keen to add more members to the inspection team for the new financial year 2026-27 and we have plenty of work to allocate if you are looking to take on a long term assignment. We are also happy to split into smaller allocations if you would only like to commit for a shorter period or to a lower workload. You will carry out the visit, issue the Risk Ratings and complete the full hygiene inspection report. On a regular basis, you will need to drop off completed paperwork at our client’s office. The work programme is completely flexible and we can allocate premises within a specific post code to help maximise efficiency. To carry out the work you will need to be Food Competent as defined by the FSA. Recent Local Authority experience is essential. Work will be paid per inspection and you can work outside IR35 if you wish. The rates will be £35-£70 per inspection depending upon the category.
