About the Role
Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Community Planning Partnership is calling on residents, businesses and community groups across the borough to have their say in shaping ambitious new place plans for Craigavon, Lurgan and Portadown.
Place shaping is about creating vibrant, thriving towns that reflect the hopes and ambitions of the people who know them best. Your voice matters. As the lead partner, ABC Council, together with Carlin Planning, are eager to hear your experiences of living in, working in, or using each town’s services. Your insight will play a key role in guiding future growth, investment, and development.
Lord Mayor of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough, Alderman Stephen Moutray, said:
“This is an exciting opportunity for local people to help shape the future of their towns. These Place Plans will reflect the aspirations of the community, and we want as many voices as possible to be part of this process. I encourage everyone to share their views online or visit the team at one of the engagement sessions. This is your chance to make a difference and have your say.”
We are encouraging everyone to get involved through a series of engagement events and activities, including an online engagement session on Wednesday 15 April. Further community‑based events are also planned, such as engage and explore at Marlborough House, heritage walks in Lurgan and Portadown, alongside relaxed coffee and chat sessions designed to spark conversation, gather ideas and encourage meaningful discussion.
Everyone is encouraged to get involved. Share your ideas, shape the vision, and help create the future of this area. Your feedback will influence the next steps in this transformative journey.
As engagement continues for the Place Shaping Plan, Communities Minister, Gordon Lyons, added:
“I am pleased that my department has been able to provide funding towards the development of this plan and I encourage communities to participate in the engagement process. Understanding community needs and issues will be vital in shaping a clear vision for Craigavon, Lurgan and Portadown, guiding future investment and regeneration.”
