About the Role

Bijgewerkt 07/05/2026

  • Build the financial foundation of an international growth organisation
  • High ownership, visible impact and freedom to shape processes
Over onze klant

The organisation is a Dutch-based producer and exporter operating in an international retail and FMCG environment, with fresh produce as its core business. From multiple locations in the southern Netherlands, activities include cultivation, sourcing, packaging and export to large retail customers across Europe and selected international markets.
The Dutch business is part of a larger international group, active globally in production and sales. The local entity generates approximately €20 million in revenue, and a clear growth ambition towards €30 million+ in the coming years.
The workplace is located on a production site and has a small-scale, informal and personal culture. Lines are short, responsibilities are clear and people work closely together. The finance team in the Netherlands collaborates intensively with international colleagues in Southern Europe across accounting, tax, FP&A and reporting.

Functie

In this position you are responsible for accounting and tax coordination for the Dutch entities, within an international group structure. You operate independently, while working closely with the CFO and foreign finance teams.
Key responsibilities:

  • Own the full monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes for the Dutch entities, including balance sheet substantiation, general ledger analysis and reconciliations
  • Prepare statutory accounts and support group consolidations within a holding structure, acting as the primary contact for external auditors
  • Act as the local subject-matter expert for accounting and tax topics, including VAT, corporate income tax and liaison with tax authorities and advisors
  • Lead, coordinate and develop a small team (2 FTE) in accounting and administration, providing guidance, structure and coaching
  • Improve, document and implement financial processes and controls in an environment where not everything is yet fully formalised
  • Collaborate closely with international finance colleagues on reporting, cash flow insights and budget input
  • Contribute to finance improvement projects, including system usage, reporting structures and future system transitions

The Financial Director's take on you personal development:
This role is designed for someone who wants to build, not just execute. While the financial basics are in place, there is significant room to strengthen structure, documentation and consistency. Success in this position means taking ownership, looking forward rather than backward, and gradually increasing influence. Growth comes through broader responsibility, complex projects and potential international exposure, rather than a rigid career ladder.

Profiel

This position suits a finance professional who is comfortable in an entrepreneurial, non-corporate setting and ready for the next step.

  • Bachelor's degree (HBO/University) in Accounting, Finance or Business Economics
  • 2-6 years of experience in accounting, audit or assurance
  • Hands-on experience with closings, audits and statutory reporting
  • Basic knowledge of tax (VAT, CIT) or strong willingness to develop in this area
  • First experience in guiding or reviewing junior colleagues is a plus
  • Fluent in English and in the process of learning Dutch (Dutch required for local compliance and stakeholders)
  • Proactive, reliable, pragmatic and comfortable taking ownership
Aanbod
  • Salary range: €60,000 - €70,000 gross per year including holiday allowance
  • One-year contract with the clear intention to move to permanent employment
  • Full-time role: 38 hours (32-38 hours negotiable)
  • 25.5 vacation days
  • Hybrid working: 1 day per week remote
  • Flexible start times between 07:00 and 09:00
  • Travel allowance €0.23 per km (from 10 km)
  • Pension scheme via sector collective labor agreement
