Paralegal (Municipal Law) – High Point, NC Join a respected municipal legal team and make an impact in your community. Our Client is seeking an experienced Paralegal to provide critical legal support within a fast-paced City Attorney’s Office. This role offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of legal matters, including municipal law, real estatetransactions, land use law, contracts, litigation support, public records compliance, and government legal operations. Job Title: Paralegal – Municipal Law Location: Winston-Salem, NC Job Type: Full-Time Salary: Competitive, based on experience About the Role The Paralegal serves as a key member of the legal team, supporting attorneys through legal research, document preparation, case management, property research, public records compliance, and administrative legal functions. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a professional government environment. Key Responsibilities Legal Research & Case Support Conduct legal research in areas including: Municipal Law Real Property Law Land Use and Zoning Contracts and Transactional Law Research property records for real estate transactions, enforcement actions, and tax foreclosure matters. Utilize the North Carolina eCourts system, local court records, and Register of Deeds databases. Legal Document Preparation Draft and prepare: Liens,Lis Pendens, Pleadings, Motions, Legal Briefs, Memoranda, Contracts, Ordinances, Resolutions Assist with legal correspondence and communications. Public Records & Litigation Support Coordinate document production for: Public Records Requests Discovery Responses Subpoena Compliance Organize and maintain electronic and physical case files. Track deadlines and manage case-related documentation. Administrative & Client Support Communicate regularly with attorneys, city departments, courts, outside counsel, and members of the public. Assist with special legal projects and research assignments. Perform administrative and clerical duties as needed. Manage multiple projects while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality. Required Qualifications Education & Experience One of the following: Bachelor's Degree and at least 3 years of paralegal experience; OR Associate Degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field and at least 5 years of paralegal experience; OR High School Diploma/GED and at least 10 years of paralegal experience. Certifications North Carolina State Bar Certified Paralegal, or eligible to sit for the next available certification exam and become certified within six months of hire. North Carolina Notary Public, or ability to obtain within three months of hire. Why Apply?
