<p>A successful and growing <strong>multidisciplinary consultancy</strong> is seeking a <strong>Senior Drainage & Flood Risk Engineer</strong> to join their established team in <strong>Huddersfield</strong>. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to play a key role in delivering drainage and flood risk solutions across a wide range of development and infrastructure projects.</p>
<p>Working within a collaborative, multi-discipline environment, you will contribute to the design and delivery of sustainable drainage strategies, flood risk assessments, and infrastructure solutions for residential, commercial, and mixed-use developments.</p>
<p><strong>The Role of Senior Drainage and Flood Risk Engineer;</strong></p>
<p>As a Senior Engineer, you will take responsibility for delivering high-quality drainage and flood risk projects while supporting junior engineers and working closely with other disciplines across the business.</p>
<p><strong>Key Responsibilities of this Drainage and Flood Risk Engineer position;</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Preparation of <strong>Flood Risk Assessments (FRA)</strong> and <strong>Drainage Strategies</strong> for planning applications.</li>
<li>Design of <strong>sustainable drainage systems (SuDS)</strong> and surface water management solutions.</li>
<li>Production of detailed <strong>drainage designs</strong> for residential and commercial developments.</li>
<li>Liaising with <strong>local authorities, Lead Local Flood Authorities, Environment Agency, and water companies</strong>.</li>
<li>Supporting the delivery of projects from <strong>concept through planning and detailed design stages</strong>.</li>
<li>Mentoring and providing technical support to junior members of the team.</li>
<li>Use of industry software such as <strong>MicroDrainage, InfoDrainage, Civil 3D, or similar</strong>.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>About You</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Degree qualified in <strong>Civil Engineering or a related discipline</strong>.</li>
<li>Strong experience delivering <strong>drainage design and flood risk assessments</strong> within the UK development sector.</li>
<li>Good understanding of <strong>SuDS principles, planning requirements, and relevant UK standards</strong>.</li>
<li>Experience working with stakeholders including <strong>local authorities and statutory consultees</strong>.</li>
<li>Working towards <strong>Chartered Engineer status (ICE or similar)</strong> is desirable.</li>
<li>Strong communication and organisational skills.</li>
