Live-out Housekeeper/Nanny in Oxford

About the role

On behalf of our private clients we are seeking a reliable, child-friendly Housekeeper to support the smooth running of their home. This is a flexible, live-out role ideal for someone who enjoys working with children while also taking pride in maintaining an organised household.

This position is primarily focused on housekeeping, with some light childcare responsibilities—particularly supporting their youngest child (age 8). This is not a full nanny role, but we are looking for someone who is confident supervising children and enjoys being part of family life.

The role is required for a minimum of 2 days per week (Tuesday and Wednesday), with the opportunity to increase hours and days for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervising and supporting the youngest child (age 8)
• Taking children to and from school activities
• Walking child to local holiday camps during school breaks
• Preparing healthy, family-friendly meals
• Managing children’s laundry, including washing and ironing
• Organising and maintaining children’s wardrobes (including sorting outgrown clothes)
• Preparing school items (e.g. P.E. kits) in advance
• General housekeeping to ensure the home runs smoothly

About the Family

• Three boys: ages 13, 12 (boarding), and 8
• Mother works in London two days per week
• Friendly, flexible household looking for someone who will become a valued part of the family

Candidate Requirements

We are looking for someone flexible with a positive attitude, reliability, and a willingness to support wherever needed are key.

• Warm, reliable, and proactive
• Child-friendly and confident supervising children
• Organised and able to manage household tasks independently
• Enjoys both housekeeping and being around children
• Able to cook simple, nutritious meals
• Driver with own car preferred (not essential)

Hours

• Term time: Tuesday & Wednesday, 3:00pm – 7:30pm
• School holidays: Tuesday & Wednesday, 8:00am – 6:00pm
• Additional days and hours available (flexible, by mutual agreement)

Salary: £20 per hour

Unless otherwise specified a minimum of 5 years relevant experience is required to receive the advertised rate of pay
