About the Role
We’re working with a welcoming, well-supported primary school that genuinely invests in Early Career Teachers. Think strong mentoring, shared planning, and a team that remembers exactly what it felt like to be new.
This is a Year 6 class, so yes, it’s a big year, but you’ll have the guidance, structure, and encouragement to grow into it with confidence.
What your first year could look like Picture this:
A clear curriculum with resources ready to support your planning
An experienced mentor who’s there when you need advice, reassurance, or just a quick chat
A team that shares ideas, resources, and the odd “we’ve all been there” moment
Pupils who are motivated, supported, and ready to learn
You’ll be building your classroom presence, finding your teaching style, and seeing real progress in your pupils, all with the right support around you.
What you’ll be doing You’ll learn fast, grow quickly, and feel proud of the impact you’re making.
Your role will include:
Creating a calm, positive classroom where children feel safe to learn and try
Planning and delivering engaging lessons, with support and guidance as you go
Helping pupils prepare for SATs in a structured, manageable way
Adapting your teaching to support all learners, including SEND and EAL
Using feedback and assessment to help pupils move forward
Building strong routines that make your day run that bit smoother
Working closely with your mentor, team, and support staff
What this school does differently This isn’t a “figure it out as you go” kind of school.
Instead, you’ll get:
A proper ECT induction with ongoing support
Regular check-ins, coaching, and feedback that actually helps
A collaborative team who share planning and lighten the load
A culture where questions are welcomed, not judged
It’s the kind of place where you can focus on becoming a great teacher, not just surviving your first year.
What you’ll get Structured ECT support and mentoring
High-quality CPD to build your confidence and skills
A friendly, approachable leadership team
Wellbeing support when you need it
A school community that values your growth
What we’re looking for UK QTS (or completing your training this year)
A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn
Someone who builds relationships easily with pupils and staff
A reflective mindset, open to feedback and development
