Position summary:


Conwell-Egan Catholic High School seeks a creative, adaptive, and highly-organized
individual to work alongside the Fine Arts Staff and be the director and coordinator for the
school’s instrumental music program. The Assistant Director of Performing Arts will report
directly to the Director of Performing Arts with performance evaluations done in
collaboration with the President and Principal.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities


• Work with the Director of Performing Arts to create and manage the school’s
performing arts calendar, and specifically be on site to coordinate and facilitate
events involving the instrumental music program.
• Recruit students to participate in instrumental ensembles.
• Teach H. Instrumental Music Course
• Teach 1:1 instrumental lessons to students enrolled in instrumental music courses.
• Adequately prepare interested students for auditions for All Catholic Instrumental
ensembles.
• Develop and expand the school’s extracurricular instrumental music offerings,
including but not limited to Jazz Band, Drum Line, and Pep Band.
• Assist the Director of Performing Arts in securing musicians for the school’s pit
orchestra. Adequately prepare student musicians who are playing in the pit.
• Advise Director of Performing Arts on coordination of marketing and advertising for
school artistic events, especially those pertaining to instrumental music.
• Develop, coordinate, and execute summer camps for instrumental music for current
and prospective students.
• Work closely with the Fine Arts Chair and the Director of Performing Arts regarding
all aspects of the Performing Arts
• Other tasks, as assigned by the President and Principal.

Qualifications:


• Bachelor’s Degree from accredited college or university in Music or Education
• Prior teaching experience preferred
• Prior performance experience preferred
