Learning Support Assistant - Halifax

About the role:

 Justteachers is recruiting for a Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming school in the Halifax area on a long-term basis. This full-time opportunity is due to begin in September, with the school currently reviewing applications. The school prides itself on creating an inclusive and supportive environment where every pupil is encouraged to succeed and reach their individual goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Providing classroom support to pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups
• Helping students to access learning activities and remain focused throughout lessons
• Encouraging positive behaviour, confidence and independence within the school setting
• Liaising with teachers and support staff to ensure pupils receive the appropriate level of support

Pre-requisites:

Experience working with children or young people in an educational, care or support setting
• Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, youth work or support work
• A positive, patient and adaptable approach to supporting learning
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with pupils and staff
• Two recent professional references, ideally from education or school-based settings
