The Director of Finance &amp; Controller will embrace a leadership role within the Finance team and partner closely with leaders across the firm. The Director of Finance &amp; Controller will lead all financial operations, including FP&amp;A, budgeting and planning, accounting (from transactional processes through financial reporting), financial systems, and overall fiscal stewardship. In addition to overseeing accounting and reporting, this role will play a critical part in strengthening and enhancing financial processes that support the company’s continued flexibility and growth.</h3> <h3><strong>Opportunity Scope:</strong></h3> <h3><em>Financial Planning &amp; Analysis</em></h3> <ul> <li> <h3>Prepare and present monthly financial reports including but not limited to monthly profit and loss by department/business unit/market, actual vs budget by department/business unit/market, balance sheet and cash flow.</h3> </li> <li> <h3>Review and analyze monthly financial results.</h3> </li> <li> <h3>Maintain monthly operating budget and annual company operating budget.</h3> </li> </ul> <h3><em>Accounting/Reporting/GL</em></h3> <ul> <li> <h3>Ensure the proper function of all transactional and reporting systems, financial databases and financial software.</h3> </li> <li> <h3>Review and ensure application of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures.</h3> </li> <li> <h3>Lead the preparation and communication of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements.</h3> </li> <li> <h3>Lead the preparation and timely filing of all local, state and federal tax returns.</h3> </li> <li> <h3>Lead the month-end close process.</h3> </li> <li> <h3>Review all month-end closing activities including general ledger accounts, balance sheet accounts and overhead cost allocation.</h3> </li> <li> <h3>Lead organizational audit effort with outside accounting firm.</h3> </li> <li> <h3>Seek advice and maintain best practices around compliance with audit requirements, state, federal and local laws.</h3> </li> <li> <h3>Assist team in performing reconciliations and journal entries for month end close as needed as well as preparing and filing monthly sales tax reporting</h3> </li> </ul> <h3><em>Strategic Planning/Management/Misc.</em></h3> <ul> <li> <h3>Communicate, engage and interact with Executive Team where financial topics are in play.</h3> </li> <li> <h3>Serve as key transactional contact to banks, lending organizations, auditors, taxing authorities and industry trade partners.</h3> </li> <li> <h3>Assess and evaluate financial performance of the organization with adherence to financial plans, forecasts, budgets and key performance indicators.</h3> </li> <li> <h3>Manage and improved financial systems, software and solutions providing critical financial and operational information; Evaluate Finance Department processes and make suggestions for automating processes and increasing accuracy and efficiency.</h3> </li> <li> <h3>Work with the CEO to establish yearly financial budgets and forecasts in advance of the budgetary period in time to provide adequate review and discussion.</h3> </li> <li> <h3>Implement financial policies, procedures and processes as deemed appropriate by the Executive Team.</h3> </li> </ul> <h3><strong>Position Preferences:</strong></h3> <ul> <li> <h3>10+ years' experience in accounting and finance</h3> </li> <li> <h3>BS in Accounting or Finance</h3> </li> <li> <h3>CPA or MBA preferred but not required</h3> </li> <li> <h3>ERP training (NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage Intacct or similar)</h3> </li> <li> <h3>Proven ability to mentor and manage 1-2 staff members</h3> </li> <li> <h3>Steadfast belief in servant leadership and customer service</h3> </li> <li> <h3>Be able to support and rally around a founder-led company emphasizing cultural quality and endurance and team spirit</h3> </li> <li> <h3>Ability to work through the mundane, execute stakeholder presentations ..... and keep the big picture in mind!</h3> </li> <li> <h3>Someone who would like to plant true roots and grow with this group (VP, beyond)</h3> </li> </ul> <h3><br /> <strong>$140,000 - $150,000 + disc. bonus</strong></h3> <h3><strong>4-5 days IN-office schedule</strong></h3> <h3>Highly competitive benefits, 4% 401k match, generous PTO, reasonable hours</h3> IND4<br />
