This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a scientific background and strong analytical skills to join a business that offers comprehensive training, career development and outstanding benefits.<br><br> <br><br>Working within a specialist production team, you'll manufacture high-accuracy calibration gases and reference materials used across a wide range of industries, ensuring products are produced safely, accurately and in line with strict quality standards.<br><br> <br><br><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong><br><br><ul><li>Manufacture high-accuracy calibration gases and reference materials using gravimetric methods<br><br></li><ul><li>Produce oxygen and flammable gas mixtures in accordance with established operating procedures<br><br></li><li>Prepare gas cylinders for filling, including valve fitting, treatment, painting and evacuation<br><br></li><li>Maintain exceptional quality standards in line with ISO 6142 and ISO 17034 accreditation<br><br></li><li>Support the Production Manager with stock control, ordering cylinders and source gases<br><br></li><li>Coordinate cylinder movements and support site logistics, including forklift operations (training provided where required)<br><br></li><li>Maintain accurate production records and ensure compliance with all health, safety and quality procedures<br><br></li><li>Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure production targets and customer requirements are achieved<br><br></li></ul></ul> <br><br><strong>About You</strong><br><br>We're looking for someone who has a genuine interest in science and enjoys working in a precise, process-driven environment.<br><br> <br><br>You'll ideally have:<br><br> <br><br><ul><li>A scientific qualification or background (Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or similar)<br><br></li><ul><li>Strong mathematical and analytical skills<br><br></li><li>Excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow technical procedures accurately<br><br></li><li>Good organisational and communication skills<br><br></li><li>Confidence using Microsoft Office and computer-based systems<br><br></li><li>A proactive attitude and willingness to learn new skills<br><br></li><li>The ability to work both independently and as part of a team<br><br></li></ul></ul> <br><br>Previous experience handling gases, laboratory equipment or forklift trucks is advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.<br><br> <br><br><strong>What's on Offer</strong><br><br><ul><li>£31,000 - £34,000 depending on experience<br><br></li><ul><li>Annual performance bonus<br><br></li><li>Employer pension contributions of up to 10.7%<br><br></li><li>25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, with the option to buy additional leave<br><br></li><li>Comprehensive healthcare trust<br><br></li><li>Employee Assistance Programme<br><br></li><li>Exclusive employee discounts<br><br></li><li>Ongoing training and structured career development<br><br></li><li>A supportive, inclusive working environment with opportunities to progress within a global organisation<br><br></li></ul></ul> <br><br>If you're looking to develop your scientific career with a business that invests heavily in its people, we'd love to hear from you.<br><br> <br><br>Apply today and a member of our recruitment team will be in touch to discuss the opportunity in more detail.
