About the Role
About the role: We are seeking a dedicated and resilient KS1 Behaviour Mentor to join a welcoming primary school in Colne from September 2026 . This is a full-time, temporary position for the full academic year on a long-term supply basis , supporting pupils who require additional behavioural, social and emotional support to fully engage with their learning. This supportive and inclusive school is committed to fostering positive relationships, promoting emotional wellbeing and creating a safe environment where all pupils can achieve success. Key Responsibilities: Provide targeted support to pupils who require assistance with behaviour, engagement and emotional regulation. Build positive and trusting relationships with pupils to encourage confidence and resilience. Work closely with class teachers, the SENCO and pastoral staff to implement behaviour support strategies. Support pupils both inside and outside the classroom to help them access learning effectively. Monitor and report on pupil progress, behaviour and wellbeing, maintaining accurate records where required. Pre-requisites: Relevant qualifications in Teaching Assistance, Childcare, Youth Work, Behaviour Support or a related field. Proven experience of supporting children with behavioural, social or emotional needs within a school or similar setting. Strong knowledge of behaviour management strategies and techniques to support positive pupil outcomes. Two education or school-based references.
