Functie

As Product Cost Engineer, you will be the central point of contact for product costing and related financial information. You will ensure that cost prices, sales prices and underlying parameters are accurate, complete and up to date.
You will work closely with Sales, R&D, Production, Operations and Finance to translate technical and commercial information into reliable cost calculations.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Translate customer requests and large-order specifications into realistic product cost calculations;
• Analyse technical product information, materials, labour and manufacturing requirements;
• Prepare and maintain the annual product cost calculations and price book;
• Calculate and review standard costs for existing and new products;
• Perform analyses and reporting related to factory and manufacturing costs;
• Monitor cost developments and explain relevant variances;
• Collaborate with Sales, R&D and Production to determine accurate costing parameters;
• Provide colleagues with reliable financial and costing information;
• Identify cost-saving opportunities within products and manufacturing processes;
• Recommend improvements to costing processes, systems and data quality;
• Support the month-end closing process with standard reports and inventory analyses;
• Assist with inventory reconciliation and cost-related financial controls;
• Manage, update and verify pricing master data within the ERP system;
• Maintain accurate cost price and sales price information;
• Ensure that costing assumptions and calculations are properly documented;
• Contribute to continuous improvement projects across Finance and Operations.

This position combines detailed calculation work with financial analysis, technical understanding and cross-functional collaboration.

Profiel

The successful candidate is an accurate and analytical finance professional with experience in product costing and a strong interest in manufacturing and technology.
You are comfortable working with detailed data and complex calculations, while also understanding how your work supports broader commercial and operational decisions. You enjoy collaborating with different departments and can translate technical information into clear financial insights.
You bring:

• Bachelor's-level working and thinking ability, preferably in Finance, Business Economics, Engineering or a related discipline;
• At least two years of relevant professional experience;
• Experience as a Cost Engineer, Cost Accountant, Cost Controller, Financial Accountant, Calculator or in a comparable position;
• Practical experience with product cost or standard cost calculations;
• Technical knowledge or a strong affinity with manufacturing and engineering;
• Strong numerical and analytical skills;
• Excellent attention to detail and a structured working style;
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills;
• Experience working with ERP systems;
• Experience with M3, Movex or AS400 is an advantage;
• Strong system and data-management capabilities;
• Good communication skills in both Dutch and English.

You can work independently, but also enjoy acting as a connecting partner between Finance, Operations, Sales and technical departments.
