Senior Frontend EngineerRemote | Full-time | Reports to: Chapter Lead

You'll own the frontend layer of our products end to end, and should be equally comfortable in both modes of work: given a base component library and general design guidelines, you can design and build full pages and layouts largely on your own, without needing pixel-accurate mockups for every screen; and when full designs are provided, you can implement them pixel-perfect to spec. You'll work closely with backend engineers, designers, and product managers, but should be comfortable making sound UI/UX calls yourself when direction is loose, and just as comfortable executing precisely when it isn't.
- Develop and maintain web applications using TypeScript and Next.js (App Router, RSC), working closely with our backend team on API contracts
- Implement fully-specified designs pixel-perfect, matching Figma mockups exactly when they are provided
- Design and build full pages and layouts independently, using our component library and general design guidelines rather than detailed Figma handoffs, when full designs aren't provided
- Make sound UI/UX decisions on layout, spacing, states, and interaction patterns when specs are incomplete, and flag gaps to designers proactively
- Build efficient, reusable components and modules with a focus on performance and accessibility
- Optimize applications for performance and scalability (Core Web Vitals, bundle size, rendering strategy)
- Implement internationalization (i18n) and localization strategies to support multi-language SaaS platforms
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including designers, product managers, and QA
- Integrate with 3rd-party APIs and backend services
- 5+ years of professional experience in frontend development
- Expertise in TypeScript
- Deep experience with Next.js (React), including React Server Components and modern rendering strategies
- Solid understanding of web performance optimization and accessibility (a11y) best practices
- Comfort working against a backend team and consuming REST APIs
- A sharp eye for detail and experience delivering pixel-perfect, responsive UIs
- Solid understanding of web performance optimization techniques and tools
- Real-world production experience with localization/i18n tools and practices
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced, agile environment
- Strong communication skills and experience working with remote teams
- Experience contributing to or building a design system / component library from scratch
- Familiarity with CI/CD tools and practices
- Experience with containerization (Docker) and cloud platforms (AWS)
