ITS supports and enables faculty research and teaching with the effective use of technology, simplifies the technology experience for all users, and identifies, manages, and mitigates technology risks for the University. Job Summary The University of Chicago is seeking a highly skilled Senior Integration Developer for Oracle to join its Information Technology Services (ITS) team. This senior, hands-on role is responsible for the design, development, and support of enterprise-grade integrations across Oracle Fusion ERP Cloud platforms and third-party systems. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), SOA concepts, and cloud-native integration patterns. This role requires strong technical leadership, the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, and a focus on delivering scalable, secure, and high-performing integration solutions. Responsibilities Develops and maintains integrations between Oracle Fusion ERP modules, such as ERP and SCM, and on-premise or third-party systems like Salesforce, Workday, or SAP. Develops and maintains integration interfaces using Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) or other middleware technologies such as MuleSoft. Builds and manages REST and SOAP web services, adapters, file-based integrations, and scheduled processes. Performs data mappings, transformations, and orchestration using XSLT and OIC tools. Provides technical leadership in integration architecture, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security. Troubleshoots, monitors, and resolves integration issues in development, test, and production environments. Collaborates with functional analysts, developers, vendors, and business stakeholders to gather and refine requirements. Leads or participates in design reviews, code reviews, and technical documentation efforts. Supports change management, release deployments, and production support activities. Mentors junior staff and contributes to knowledge sharing and best practices within the ITS organization. Ensures integrations comply with University policies, data governance standards, and security requirements. Partners with Oracle support and consultants to manage service requests and escalations. Leads business process analyses, needs assessments, and preliminary cost/benefit analyses. Solves unique and complex problems relating to computer equipment capacity, limitations, and operation time. Utilizes expertise and a thorough understanding of business systems and industry requirements to translate business and user needs into system requirement specifications. Performs other related work as needed. Minimum Qualifications Education: Minimum requirements include a college or university degree in related field. Work Experience: Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 7+ years of work experience in a related job discipline. Certifications: --- Preferred Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree information technology, computer science, business, or a related field. Master's degree. Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience with enterprise application integration development, specifically in Oracle ERP including Fusion Cloud applications. A minimum of 3 years of experience with Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) Hands-on experience with Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), FBDI/ADFDI, and other Oracle tools. Demonstrated experience integrating Oracle Fusion Cloud applications with external systems. Strong experience with REST, SOAP, XML, JSON, and XSLT. Supporting production systems in a complex enterprise environment. Supporting MuleSoft production system within the Mule Runtime, Platform API, and Gateway tools is a plus. Background with higher education or nonprofit environments is a plus. Certifications: Oracle Cloud, technical. Technical Skills or Knowledge: Hands-on experience with Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), FBDI/ADFDI, and other Oracle tools. Familiarity with regulatory requirements, financial controls, and audit processes impacting ERP systems.
