Mechanical Design Engineer - Water & Wastewater ProjectsAre you a Mechanical Design Engineer with experience in water, wastewater or infrastructure projects? Looking to strengthen your technical capability while working across multidisciplinary engineering schemes?Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of water and wastewater treatment projects, we are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Fleet-based team.The RoleYou will support the delivery of mechanical designs from feasibility and outline design through to detailed design and construction support. Working alongside senior engineers and project managers, you will help produce compliant, buildable solutions for regulated water industry clients.Key ResponsibilitiesAssist in the design of mechanical systems for water and wastewater treatment plants, pumping stations, pipelines and associated assetsProduce mechanical calculations, equipment schedules, specifications and technical documentationSupport the selection and integration of pumps, pipework, valves and rotating equipmentCoordinate designs with civil, process and electrical disciplinesContribute to internal and client design reviewsEnsure compliance with BS EN standards, WIMES, DSEAR, Eurocodes and relevant UK regulationsAttend site visits across the South of England to support surveys, inspections and commissioning activitiesContribute to continuous improvement, standard details and best practice within the mechanical teamAbout You3-7 years' experience in mechanical design engineeringExperience within the water, wastewater or related infrastructure sectors preferredDegree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or related disciplineKnowledge of UK water industry standards and health & safety requirementsProficient in AutoCAD and mechanical design tools (Revit or 3D design advantageous)Understanding of pumps, pipework systems and treatment equipmentStrong organisational skills and attention to detailClear communication skills and ability to work collaborativelyWorking towards professional accreditation (e.g. IMechE) would be advantageous.Location & Working PatternPrimarily office-based in Fleet, Hampshire, with hybrid working available.
