About the Role

<p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p style="text-align:inherit"></p><p>The Contemplative Sciences Center at the University of Virginia is seeking a Lab Coordinator for its CIRCL, Contemplative Innovation + Research Co-Lab. This position will be approximately 25-35 hours per week, in-person in Charlottesville, VA. The Lab Coordinator will assist with the implementation and management of studies in the collaboratory.</p><p></p><p> Brief descriptions of CIRCL research can be found here: <a href="https://csc.virginia.edu/research/circl" target="_blank">https://csc.virginia.edu/research/circl</a>.</p><p></p><p>Main responsibilities of this position will include:</p><ul><li>Coordinating collaborative lab efforts for pilots and full studies.</li><li>Working with interdisciplinary teams of researchers (faculty, senior researchers, postdocs, graduate Research Assistants, lab tech) to implement research studies.</li><li>Managing the cohort of undergraduate Research Assistants assigned to studies.</li><li>Managing the daily operations of studies including recruitment, on-the-ground logistics, and communications.</li><li>Managing lab equipment and working with a lab technician to ensure data integrity.</li><li>Compiling relevant bibliographies, lit reviews, and related grant and publication projects.</li><li>Participating in CSC and CIRCL regular team meetings and working groups (research methods, readings, workshops, salon, etc.), and contributing to CSC culture.</li><li>Other tasks relevant to CIRCL research activities.</li></ul><p></p><p>The Lab Coordinator will have opportunities to learn interdisciplinary research methods in practice, be part of a dynamic team of collaborative researchers dedicated to studying contemplative practices and contribute to multi-author publications produced by the lab.</p><p></p><p><b>Qualifications:</b></p><p>Applicants with a MA degree in a relevant field and related lab managerial experience will be considered most preferably.</p><p></p><p><b>Anticipated Position Compensation</b>: $32.00 Hourly</p><p></p><p><b>Application Process</b></p><p><span>To apply, please submit an application online at <a href="https://jobs.virginia.edu" target="_blank"><span>https://jobs.virginia.edu</span></a></span><span> and attach a current</span> curriculum vitae, a 1-page personal statement about relevant experience and interest that align with the mission of the CIRCL. Master's degree will be considered in lieu of experience.</p><p>Licensure: None.</p><p></p><p>PHYSICAL DEMANDS</p><p></p><p>This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers.
