Cherry Bekaert is partnered with a mission‑driven, government‑affiliated research organization to identify a Procurement Manager to join its team in Alexandria, Virginia. This is a senior leadership opportunity responsible for overseeing corporate procurement and property administration functions within a highly regulated government contracting environment.

$150,000–$170,000 base salary

Position Overview
The Procurement Manager is responsible for leading and managing the organization’s corporate procurement and property administration operations. This role provides strategic and operational oversight of procurement activities, ensures compliance with all applicable government regulations and internal policies, and serves as a primary point of contact for auditors, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in government contracting procurement, a deep understanding of FAR‑based environments, and proven leadership capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership and direct oversight of the corporate procurement and property administration team
Manage end‑to‑end procurement activities, including sourcing, competitive bidding, RFPs, and purchase order approvals
Ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, and internal procurement policies and procedures
Maintain CPSR‑approved and Government Property‑approved status
Lead and support government and external audits related to procurement and property administration
Review and approve procurement activity for offsite locations, ensuring consistency and compliance
Oversee lease‑versus‑purchase and make‑or‑buy analyses
Monitor compliance with government‑mandated socio‑economic procurement programs
Ensure accurate maintenance of procurement and property records, inventories, and documentation
Build effective working relationships with internal leadership, auditors, and external vendors
Required Qualifications
Progressive experience in procurement within a government contracting or DoD environment
Strong working knowledge of FAR‑based procurement and property administration
Prior experience managing or supervising procurement and/or property teams
Experience supporting and interacting with government auditors
Ability to operate effectively in a highly regulated environment
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Deltek Costpoint
Background in both procurement and property administration
Prior experience supporting CPSR or Government Property audits
